Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited along to my cousin's wedding which was held at a beautiful winery in the South of Victoria. The weather was perfect for March and the scenery was breathtaking. I thought I would share with you my top makeup picks for the day that I couldn't go without.
#1 MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle
I can't go past a nice glow, especially for a wedding so this was my top pick as a highlighter. It has a gorgeous hint of peach in it and really gives that 'lit from within' glow. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new highlughter for both special occasions and everyday.
#2 Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette
I absolutely adore this palette and couldn't wait to use it for my eye look on the day of the wedding. I created a subtle smokey eye using the shades Limit, Nooner, Factory and Mugshot. I also used Strange as a brow bone highlight and Dust on my inner corner. I find that even the brush that comes with it is really good quality and would recommend this palette as a whole. What a bonus that Urban Decay is now sold at Mecca Maxima in Australia!
#3 Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
This is quite a recent purchase for me but I would definitely say that it lives up to the hype. I struggle to get volume in my lashes and end up looking like I don't have many eyelashes from afar (I look at myself in mirrors way too often!).This mascara is perfect for me though and once I had used it for a couple of weeks, it got even better. Go check this one out if you're in the market for a new mascara.
#4 Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water
This is quickly turning into a holy grail product for me. It settles powder on my face to avoid the 'cake face' look and helps my makeup stay in place all day long. I didn't realise how much a decent setting spray can be for your makeup! I can't help but use this on the daily now.
#5 Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Peony
This lipstick has such a comfortable, velvety formula that I can't get enough of. The colour is also perfect for everyday as well. I found it perfect for the wedding as even when eating, it slowly faded off and didn't come off in patches or go everywhere. It also wasn't very drying which is a quality I particularly like as I have dry lips on most occasions.
#6 Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Perfume
Not particularly a makeup item but I thought I would add this in as the scent I wore on the day. I'm hopeless at describing scents but apparently it's notes are blackberry, grapefruit, pear, jasmine, lychee, blue wisteria, white woods, musk and coconut water. Even just reading that makes me realise why I love it so much. It's such a fruity, floral fragrance that I absolutely adore.
